Beyond the Basics Pooch & People Training

Lamb joined the Santa Ana Police Department in 1967, which made him the first African American hired in Orange County. During his time on the force, he was awarded the Medal of Valor, made Officer of the Year and Officer of OC_HOTLIST_BEST_DOG_TRAINING2bthe Month; he was assigned to work Community Relations for the City of Santa Ana, Crime Scene Investigation and served as a Field Training Officer; he also participated in the San Diego Police Olympics. These were turbulent times for Lamb and after several years he left the PD to pursue his interest in working with dogs.
He opened Orange County Kennels, which provided protection dogs to private industry. He trained with the US Military K9 personnel. This was the beginning of a life-long commitment to serving the public with well trained family companions, and law enfor cement with well trained, focused explosives and narcotics detection dogs. In 2007 Lamb introduced and trained the first cell phone detection dogs, and trained the first six K9 teams in the U.S. for the Virginia Department of Corrections.
He and his staff conduct explosives sweeps for high profile venues, drug detection sweeps in schools and commercial business; and volunteer time to schools for their drug prevention programs and special events, such as Career Day.
In May of 2008 he opened a one-of-a kind training facility in Fullerton to accommodate the cell phone detection program; a year later he opened the facility to the public to train companion dogs in basic and advanced obedience and address behavioral problems; in July of the same year he opened Boarding and Day Care services.
